CNBC SPORTS: The Spirit of Yachting - Rolex Fastnet Race -

This monument of offshore sailing celebrates its centenary this year, with a fleet of close to 500 yachts taking to the start at Cowes on the Isle of Wight. Named after the ‘Fastnet Rock‘ off the southern tip of Ireland, which serves as the race‘s iconic rounding point, this biennial 695 nautical mile race is a rite of passage for any sailors. The film will embed specialist camera operators onboard two of the racing yachts, to provide insight and showcase the intense action from one of the greatest spectacles in world sport.

The Spirit of Yachting series showcases the foremost yachting events worldwide, from offshore classics such as the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race and the Rolex Fastnet Race, to jewels of the Mediterranean season, the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup and Rolex Middle Sea Race as well as offering insightful documentary content on the exhilarating Rolex SailGP Championship.
